Each year The CPHT hold a walk to Kildangan Megalithic Site which is located on a salt marsh just outside Murrisk. Located at this ancient site there is a stone row which on one day of the year, which happens to coincide with winter solstice lines up perfectly with the setting sun as it sets into a little niche to the side of Croagh Patrick. Obviously some planning was put into place thousands of years ago for this to happen. We can only ascertain why but presumption would be that for better words they were waving shorter days good bye and looking forward to longer brighter days.
Come and join us for this short walk – only 2km each way and witness this amazing sight with us. Small cover charge of 5 euros to cover expenses.
Meeting point is outside Campbell’s Pub Murrisk at 1pm .. Hope to see you there
